| Lymphedema Management Program |
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson has a new Lymphedema Management Program. Lymphedema is the accumulation of lymph fluid, usually in the limbs, due to the inability of the lymphatic system to keep up with the lymphatic load. It causes swelling in the affected area and is often associated with cancer treatment. Treatment for lymphedema needs to be performed by a certified lymphedema therapist. The therapist will help decease the swelling with completed decongestive therapy. While there is no cure for lymphedema, with proper treatment, limbs can return to normal size and improvements can be maintained throughout a lifetime. The lymphedema therapy program at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson can help reduce its effects, creating greater comfort and increased circulation for an improved quality of life. | HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson recently received the Presidents Circle Award and the Outstanding Performance in Home Health Award. HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson is one of only 12 hospitals in HealthSouth’s nationwide network of more than 90 rehabilitation hospitals to receive the prestigious President’s Circle award. This distinction recognizes the hospital’s outstanding performance in development of clinical programs, quality of patient care services, employee retention and overall operational excellence.
