Dr. Robert Gao
Medical Director
Dr. Gao is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). He has had a medical practice in Las Vegas since 2001. He graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University in China and has a master’s degree in science from San Francisco. He completed his residency at Brookdale University Hospital, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and completed his residency in PM&R at UCLA/West LA VA Hospital in Los Angeles.

Kristen Machtemes
Director of Therapy Operations
Kristen has been an employee of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson since 2003.  She graduated in 2001 with a bachelor's degree from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and received a master's degree in physical therapy in 2003 from the same school.  She is the coordinator of clinical education for HealthSouth's therapy student program and the spasticity program coordinator for HealthSouth's intrathecal baclofen program.  Kristen's certifications include ergonomic assessment specialist, Bioness L300 technology, ABLS and EKG.

Marilyn Fink
Director of Marketing Operations
Marilyn comes to our hospital with more than 20 years of health care experience. She has been employed with HealthSouth for more than 15 years. She worked for 13 years at Sunrise Rehabilitation Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., before moving to Henderson. A certified rehabilitation registered nurse, Marilyn graduated from Queensborough College in New York in 1984.

Bob Bollard
Chief Financial Officer
Bob received a master’s degree in public administration/health care administration from Brigham Young University in Utah. He has more than 30 years of experience in health care financial administration. Bob has been married 35 years and has three children and three grandchildren. He helped open HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson in 2001.

Monica Byers
Chief Nursing Officer
Monica received a master's degree in nursing from Florida Atlantic University and is nationally board-certified in adult health as an advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP).  She holds a master's degree in healthcare administration (MHA) from the University of  West Florida and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the American Nurses Association (ANA).  She has extensive experience in adult health, including physical medicine and rehab, acute and primary care along with clinical and managment experience in home care.

Sue Loving
Director of Human Resources

Susan joined HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson in March of 2005 with 13 years experience in hospital-based human resources in the state of California.  She holds a certificate in human resources management from California Lutheran University.  Her variety of experience in human resources includes recruitment and retention, training, compensation, employee relations, benefits, and workers compensation.


Linda Burdno
Director of Home Health
Linda joined HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson in 2002.  She graduated from the Community College of Southern Nevada with a degree in nursing.  Linda has 11 years of nursing experience, and six years as a Home Health nurse at HealthSouth.  She was promoted to director in 2006.  Linda's expertise in Home Health and team direction has been rewarded by receiving an award for "Outstanding Performance in Clinical Excellence for Home Health" in 2008.  The Home Health Department has also received the "Health Insight" Quality award consecutively in 2007 and 2008. 

Wanda Haynes
Director of Quality and Risk Management
Wanda joined HealthSouth in October of 2008, bringing more than 30 years of health care administrative expertise, 10 years of progressive nursing administrative experience including the roles of assistant and associate director of medical, surgical, critical care and rehab nursing services for the Kaiser Permanente health care delivery system, 14 years of experience in the areas of regional and local facility based risk management, customer service program management, regulatory compliance, quality management and performance improvement project management and nine years of utilization and case management.  Her academic and professional certifications include a current RN license, a public health nurse certificate, a bachelor's degree in nursing with a community mental health emphasis from California State University at Los Angeles and a master's degree in health care administration from the University of La Verne in California.  Wanda, a CLNC (certified legal nurse consultant) has been an active member of the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants (NACLNC) since 2006.
